# Countertop Kings: Sourcing Kitchen Appliances
Phase 1 (Area A) is where you find the gadgets that fill kitchens worldwide.
## 1. The "Big Three" Categories
* **Air Fryers:** Still huge. Now looking for "Steam Air Fryers" or "Dual Basket" models.
* **Blenders/Juicers:** High speed, portable USB blenders.
* **Coffee Machines:** Espresso makers and grinders.
## 2. Production Hubs
* **Shunde (Foshan):** The global capital of appliance manufacturing. Midea is from here. If a factory is in Shunde, they have infrastructure.
* **Zhongshan:** Also very strong for kitchen appliances.
* **Cixi (Ningbo):** Known for cheaper, high-volume washing machines and heaters.
## 3. Finding the "Viral" Product
* Don't just look at what is on the shelf. Ask: *"What is your newest mold?"*
* Factories often hide their newest design under a cloth or in a back room to prevent copying. You have to ask to see it.
## 4. Quality Control
* **Motor Life:** Ask for the "Life Test" report. A cheap blender lasts 50 hours. A good one lasts 500.
* **Plastic Smell:** Smell the sample. Cheap plastic releases toxic fumes when heated (bad for air fryers). Insist on LFGB/FDA certified food-grade materials.
## Summary
The barrier to entry is low, but the return rate on bad appliances is high. Stick to **Shunde** factories for the best balance of quality and price.
