The E-Mobility Boom: Buying E-Bikes
China makes 95% of the world's E-bikes. The "New Energy Vehicle" hall (Phase 1) is packed with them.
1. Key Categories
- City Commuters: Foldable, smaller wheels.
- Fat Tire: Huge in the USA. 750W motors.
- Cargo Bikes: The new trend for urban delivery.
2. Tianjin vs. Wuxi vs. Shenzhen
- Tianjin: Traditional bicycle hub. Cheap steel frames. Mass market.
- Wuxi: The E-Scooter capital.
- Shenzhen/Dongguan: High-end, carbon fiber, export-focused. Expensive but good.
3. Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD)
- Europe: High anti-dumping tax on Chinese E-bikes.
- USA: Section 301 tariffs.
- Solution: Many factories offer "CKD" (Completely Knocked Down) shipping to assembly plants in Vietnam, Poland, or Turkey to bypass origin rules. Ask if they have "Overseas Assembly".
4. The Battery Problem
- Fires are a PR nightmare.
- Demand: Samsung/LG/Panasonic cells.
- Reality: Most use Chinese cells (Lishen, BAK). These are actually good if the Battery Management System (BMS) is good.
Summary
Don't focus on the top speed. Focus on the After-Sales Support. Do they send spare parts? E-bikes break often.
