# Heavy Metal: Sourcing Machinery
Phase 1 Outdoors and Area B. This is where the big boys play.
## 1. Key Categories
* **Construction:** Mini-excavators (Huge trend for DIY), Loaders, Forklifts.
* **Agriculture:** Tractors, Drones for spraying (DJI Agras rivals).
* **Food Processing:** Oil presses, Packaging machines, Noodle makers.
## 2. Engines
* The machine is metal. The heart is the engine.
* **Options:** Cummins (Joint Venture), Yanmar, Kubota, or Chinese brands (Weichai/Yuchai).
* **Emission Standards:** EPA (USA) or Euro V (Europe). You CANNOT import a non-compliant engine. Check the emission plate on the engine block.
## 3. Small Machinery (The DIY Market)
* **Mini Excavators (1 Ton):** Very popular for rental businesses in Europe.
* **Shandong Province:** The hub for small loaders and excavators. Prices are unbelievably low.
## 4. Spare Parts Strategy
* A machine that doesn't run is scrap metal.
* **Negotiation:** Include a "Spare Parts Kit" (filters, seals, belts) with every container.
* **Manuals:** Ask to see the English manual. Usually, it's terrible. You may need to rewrite it for your customers.
## Summary
Visit the factory. You must see the assembly line for machinery. Do not buy a $20,000 machine based on a booth visit alone.
